A few days ago a patient came to my chamber to test his bilirubin. An earlier test had concluded that his bilirubin level was normal. He came to the chamber on his motorcycle. Unfortunately, our tests concluded that his bilirubin level was extremely high. When he heard this he almost collapsed. The man who was riding a motorcycle a few minutes ago now found it difficult to walk! This is a real example of how just information or words can have an impact on people.
There was a time when we used to think this is some mysterious psychological phenomenon. But the analysis of studies conducted over the last 30 years shows that there is scientific explanation for this. Suppose a man has become extremely tired and collapsed to the ground after walking a long distance. He is too exhausted to take a single step. Although his house is very close he can’t summon the strength to get up and walk to it. If, in this situation if he suddenly hears that a tiger is coming he would jump up and start running. Where did this tired and exhausted man get the strength to run? As soon as he heard about the tiger he imagined what would happen if the tiger caught him. The hypothalamus of is brain started secreting hormones that provided the strength for running and prepared his body for it.
When it became established that psychological inputs can create physical outputs scientists became interested in generating immunological output with the same input; i.e., in using the power of the mind can activate or revive the body’s immune system by influencing the nervous system. At present we are using this technique to counsel AIDS and Hepatitis patients in 60 centers around the country.
A girl came to me one day. Her husband had died of AIDS. She told me that if she her test results yielded HIV positive she would commit suicide. When the test result came out positive we became very worried and didn’t know how to tell her. We went to the counseling unit of Dhaka University. The girl was also taken there. She was counseled for three hours behind closed door. Naturally there were a lot of tears and emotional breakdowns. At the end of the counseling session the girl came out wiping her tears. She is now the Executive Director of a renowned NGO of the country. A few days ago she received the Women’s Leadership Award from New York.
When a person comes to know that he has cancer, Hepatitis or AIDS, he is naturally engulfed with despair and hopelessness. On top of that he sees the people around him heaving long sighs for him openly or in private. As a result the treatment or medication doesn’t even have the little effect it could have had. But if this very man were given proper counseling and told words of hope, this could have revived his immune system and possibly even cured him. In the very least he could have had a joyous, peaceful and active life. This doesn’t even require medicines.
This is the essence of Gurujee’s discussion in the Quantum Method Course. Gurujee is not giving anyone any medicine, but his words of faith and the positive environment of the course instigate healing. The medicine and the doctor’s counsel are supplementary. This is why people are recovering from various diseases through the course.
We the doctors are either not willing or able to provide the patients with adequate service under the conventional treatment system. We just write a prescription and end our responsibility, depriving the patients of the mental and spiritual care they need. The medicines may work but even then proper counseling can accelerate overall healing. So it’s very important to talk to the patients. A big reason for the patients going abroad for treatment is the lack of counseling by the doctors. Talking to the patient is important for providing him with psychological inputs.
I came to Quantum driven by an eagerness for self knowledge and spiritual attainment. The knowledge and application of psycho-neuro-immunology that I have found here is wonderfully rich and practical. I want to be more involved. I want to understand the Quantum Healing process in detail so that more and more patients can be benefitted.
